What Next Horizon Capital buys
Next Horizon Capital is a San Francisco private equity firm that describes itself as middle market and growth oriented. Its stated focus is business services and tech-enabled services, and its deal team lists experience in consumer and residential services, commercial and industrial services, infrastructure and financial services. Its website shows two current holdings: Telle Tire & Auto Centers, a family-founded tire and auto repair chain based in St. Louis, and PHG Advisory, a New York firm offering fractional CFO, buy-side M&A and valuation services, which it backed in November 2025.
The firm does not publish revenue, EBITDA or check-size ranges. Most of its visible activity is building Telle Tire into a regional chain. Its site lists 18 add-on acquisitions for Telle, and trade reports put the chain at 84 locations by February 2026, up from 28 Missouri stores when the investment was announced. For a smaller tire or auto repair shop in the Midwest or South, the most likely way to deal with Next Horizon is as an add-on to Telle Tire.

Greymont’s take
How Next Horizon Capital fits a seller
Next Horizon matters most to owners of independent tire and auto repair shops. Telle Tire has been buying steadily since 2024, and the deals reported so far follow a pattern: the acquired shops keep their staff, and in the larger deals the sellers' leaders took roles in the combined company. Telle's fourth-generation CEO stayed in charge after Next Horizon invested, which may appeal to owners who care about keeping their culture.
Outside auto services the firm has only one other disclosed holding, so owners in other business services fields have little track record to judge it by. Two questions are worth asking early: will my shop keep its name, as Jim Whaley Tires did, or be rebranded as Telle, as Heartland's Minnesota stores were? And how long does Next Horizon expect to own Telle before it sells?
Questions owners ask
Does Next Horizon Capital buy tire and auto repair shops?
Yes, through Telle Tire & Auto Centers, its St. Louis tire and auto service platform. The firm's site lists 18 add-on acquisitions for Telle, including Burnett Automotive in Kansas, Jim Whaley Tires in Alabama and Heartland Tire's Minnesota retail stores.
When did Next Horizon invest in Telle Tire?
The investment was announced publicly on December 17, 2024. The firm's portfolio page and its July 2024 release on the Riechers Tire & Auto add-on both give April 2024 as the date it acquired Telle Tire.
Does the owner stay on after Next Horizon or Telle Tire buys a business?
In the Telle Tire deal, fourth-generation CEO Aaron Telle kept running the company. In later add-ons, Burnett Automotive's owners took leadership roles at Telle, and Jim Whaley Tires' head of operations stayed on to lead the Southeast market.
